Gravity Operated
Minimal water pressure is needed for operation as the flap gate functions utilizing gravity. The flap opens when the head in the pipe, or conduit, exceeds 0.2 feet (0.6m) above the head in the receiving body of water. The flap closes when the head in the receiving body of water exceeds the head in the pipe or conduit. There is minimal head loss when fully open.
